Instructor

Overview of the Instructor role and capabilities in Mentor LMS.

Instructors are course creators on the platform. They can build and sell courses, host live classes, create exams, and interact with their students.

Key Capabilities

  • Course Creation: Build courses with sections, lessons, quizzes, and assignments using the drag & drop curriculum builder
  • Exam Creation: Create standalone exams with multiple question types and sell them independently
  • Live Classes: Schedule Zoom-powered live sessions for enrolled students
  • Student Management: View enrolled students, track their progress, and respond to forum questions
  • Revenue Tracking: Monitor course sales, earnings, and commission breakdowns
  • Payout Requests: Request payouts from the instructor dashboard once earnings reach the minimum threshold
  • Certificate Templates: Customize certificate designs for their courses

Instructor Dashboard

The instructor dashboard shows:

  • Course-level enrollment and revenue statistics
  • Pending student submissions and forum activity
  • Upcoming live class sessions
  • Payout history and pending balance

Becoming an Instructor

In marketplace mode, users apply to become instructors. The admin reviews and approves applications from the admin panel. Once approved, the instructor gains access to the full instructor dashboard.

In administrative mode, only admins can create courses — the instructor role is used for admin-designated course managers.
